What is your testimony? If someone asked you to share your “Jesus story,” would you know what to say—or where to begin?
In this episode of More Than a Song, we explore what it truly means to be a living, breathing, walking testimony inspired by Terrian’s powerful song, “Testimony.” Together, we’ll discover that your testimony isn’t about having an extraordinary story—it’s about the extraordinary work of Christ.
Key Points
- A biblical testimony is both a witness and a public declaration of what God has done
- Every believer shares a core testimony rooted in Titus 3:3–7
- Your Jesus story follows a simple framework:
I once was… But God… I am now… My hope and future is… - Even “ordinary” stories are powerful because salvation is rooted in God’s mercy and grace
- Paul’s testimony shows both a dramatic transformation and a shared human condition
- Our testimony leads to action—devoting ourselves to good works (Titus 3:8)
- Building a consistent rhythm in God’s Word helps us understand and live out our testimony

BITEs (Bible Interaction Tool Exercises)
Try these BITEs as you explore the Scripture for yourself this week:
- Read in Context – read the entire letter from Paul to Titus in one sitting
- Create a routine – incorporate Bible interaction time into a daily routine you commit to
- Set a timer – don’t read verse by verse or chapter by chapter; rather, set a timer and interact with Scripture for that amount of time
- Follow a guide – for my study of Titus, I used this one – Titus: Displaying the Gospel of Grace (And yes, it’s a women’s Bible study, but guys, I promise you won’t spontaneously combust if you follow along.)
- Consult an outside resource – for this episode, I used a Bible Dictionary to help me define words. Mine is built into Logos Bible Software, but this is a good one, too. (I love learning from Bill Mounce.)
- Make a list – for this episode, I made a list of keywords as it relates to the gospel
- Define words – even looking up the words in an English dictionary aids in understanding
- Study in various translations – different translators choose different words, and reading in various translations often leads to a deeper understanding
- Journal personal reflection questions – even if you can’t journal your interactions with God, take the time to reflect and talk to Him about what you’ve learned
Our testimony is really the story of Jesus—His gospel applied to our very specific circumstances.

This Week’s Challenge
Create a routine that includes time to read and meditate on God’s Word. Start by reading and meditating on Paul’s letter to Titus for yourself. Internalize Titus 3:3-7 as your Jesus story. Consider the details of Paul’s testimony — maybe it will inspire you to explore other books of the New Testament. Make a list of words or phrases that stand out to you and take time to look up what they really mean. And be sure to use the Episode Guide to help with all of this!
